Why this matters to you

Painted wet-room surfaces done by a qualified, audited painter — with a signed self-check you keep.

  • Work by an MVK-authorised company and qualified wet-room painters
  • A self-check after every step, handed over as a quality document
  • Only MVK-approved systems, third-party tested

Painting a wet room to last is a skilled, controlled trade — not a quick coat of bathroom paint. MVK, the wet-room rules of the Swedish painting industry (Måleriföretagen together with the paint and adhesive makers, SVEFF), enforces that through authorisation, just like the plumbing, waterproofing and tiling trades.

Authorised companies, qualified painters

Painted wet-room work is carried out by MVK-authorised companies. Within the company, management must include at least one person who has taken MVK's supervisor training and the Behörig våtrumsmålare (qualified wet-room painter) course, and every painter doing the practical work must hold that qualification. The certificate is valid for 10 years and only counts while the painter works for an MVK-authorised company; apprentices may assist under a qualified painter.

Only approved systems

The systems used must be tested by an accredited laboratory and approved by the MVK board, and installed to the supplier's execution instructions. Nothing off-list goes on your walls.

Self-checks and documentation

The company ensures the painter performs an egenkontroll (self-check) after every step, recorded on the MVK check sheet. A copy is handed to the client at completion as a quality document — your proof the work was done to standard.

Deviations and oversight

Any departure from the rules must be documented and signed by the client, who is advised against it under the Consumer Services Act. MVK carries out spot-checks, and a company that breaches the requirements can lose its authorisation.

What M5 brings to Dubai

We treat painted wet-room surfaces as a certified, documented trade: qualified painters, approved systems, a self-check after every step, and a quality document in your hands. A painted wall is a deliberate, verified choice — not a corner cut.
